Quarterly DUNE Special Issue Vol. 2: Louis Vuitton — published in 2006 as a special edition of Dune, the fashion and culture magazine helmed by legendary editor-in-chief Fumihiro Hayashi.
Hayashi drew on his deep network across fashion, art, and subculture to bring an extraordinary roster of artists and photographers to the title. Dune ran from its 1993 debut, with Rie Miyazawa on the cover, through its 33rd and final issue in 2008, fronted by Rinko Kikuchi. Hayashi relaunched it as Libertin/Dune in 2011, but died that same year at just 46, making the magazine his final work.
This Louis Vuitton special is dense with highlights: Takashi Murakami's pop universe, an interview with then-creative director Marc Jacobs, a portrait and interview with Sofia Coppola by Hiromix, Nobuyoshi Araki's "Bizarre Love Triangle," and Naoki Ishizaka's portrait of Yayoi Kusama.
Condition: Good with typical signs of wear from age but otherwise in good, vintage condition
